Harmanpreet Kaur on Thursday became the most limited-overs player in women’s international cricket as she led the Indian Women’s National Cricket Team in the second T20I of the three-match series against the Australian Women’s National Cricket Team in Australia.The appearance was her 356th international match on 19 February, surpassing Suzie Bates, who previously held the record for most matches in women’s international cricket.

After Kaur and Bates, Ellyse Perry is third on the list with 349 matches. Mithali Raj played 333 matches while Charlotte Edwards represented England in 309 matches. Sophie Devine (305), Heather Knight (303) and Danni Wyatt-Hodge (302) are also among the most capped players in women’s international cricket.Kaur has played six Tests, 161 ODIs and 189* T20Is in her career. She has scored 200 runs in Tests, 4,409 runs in ODIs and 3,784 runs in T20Is.She also played 35 matches in the Women’s Premier League, 62 in the Women’s Big Bash League and 10 in The Hundred women’s competition.Kaur led India to their first women’s World Cup title in the 2025 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final.On being drawn ahead of the second T20I against Australia, Kaur said, “It’s a big achievement for me. I hope to continue working hard for the team and play as long as I can.”
