Marcus Rashford decided to set out on a high road when he asked about his former Manchester United club, during his unveiling as a player in Barcelona. England International was officially introduced by Spanish giants at the beginning of this week and talked in detail about his movement, his ambitions in the club, and the situation he left in Manchester.
During the press conference, the reporter asked Rashford About recent comments by Gary Linekera to his transfer, in which a former English striker allegedly said “was a unified problem, not Rashford.” In response, Rashford avoided controversy and instead showed an understanding of changes that take place in Old Trafford.
Rashford officially switched to FC Barcelona to a seasonal 2025-26 season.
“The situation with United is that the club has been in time and have been for some time,” Rashford said. “I have nothing wrong with Manchester United. It was an important part of not only my career but only my life.”
Rashford added that he has been grateful for everything the club has done for him, spent his entire career in United since his debut in 2016. “I am grateful for playing for them. But football is the same as life and not everything you might think.
Fully focused on Barcelona
The 26-year-old wants to establish a new chapter in Spain and in Barcelona to choose a shirt no. 14-kdysi wore his idol Thierry Henry. He also expressed the desire to follow in the footsteps of Gary Linek, who played at the bar at the end of the 80s.
“This is where I have concentrated right now. I have nothing to say about Manchester United and I hope they are successful in the future,” he said.
Back in Manchester, United started its summer reconstruction by signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. In the coming weeks, further changes to Old Trafford are expected to transform the team for the new season.
