Norwegian Chess 2026 will be held in Oslo from 25 May to 5 June and will feature elite men’s and women’s tournaments with the same prize money and the same format. The six players in each tournament will compete in two rounds of Armageddon tiebreakers. The stars include Magnus Carlsen, Gukesh, Praggnanandhaa and Wesley So, plus Ju Wenjun, Zhu Jiner, Humpy Koneru and Divya Deshmukh in the women’s field. NEW DELHI: Norway Chess 2026 will be held in Oslo from May 25 to June 5, 2026 and will bring together some of the best chess players in the world. The event includes two tournaments: Men’s Norwegian Chess and Women’s Norwegian Chess. Both events share the same format, reward system and playing conditions, emphasizing a focus on fairness and equality.Each tournament features six players who compete twice in a double round-robin format. If the classic game ends in a tie, players will play Armageddon to decide the winner.
