The state government has launched a new enrollment portal for ‘NoRKA Care’, a comprehensive health and accident insurance scheme for Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs), for the period 2026-27.

Existing members can renew their policies, while new applicants can register for the program until Nov. 30, 2026, according to a statement from NoRKA Roots. The web portal and the updated mobile application allow NRK to log into the program and access its services online from anywhere in the world.

Cover plates

Crossing the previous cover limit of ₹5,000, NoRKA Care now offers eight different cover slabs: ₹3, ₹5,00,000, ₹10,000, ₹15,000,000, ₹20,000, ₹25,000,000, ₹50,00,000 and ₹1 crore. For policies starting from ₹ 3 lakh, it is possible to cover a non-resident Keralite, his/her spouse and their parents (up to age 110). The key feature is that cover for pre-existing medical conditions is provided from day one (applicable in India only). The program is open to foreigners between the ages of 18 and 70 who hold a NoRKA Pravasi ID card, student card or NRK card. The amount of the premium is calculated based on the age of the policyholder.

The digital platform offers various facilities including online registration, e-card download, access to payment confirmations, reimbursement claim forms, list of cashless hospitals, real-time status tracking of claims and ability to update family member details. The app also provides access to health and wellness services such as doctor consultations, lab tests, pharmacy services and a wellness store. Users can raise support tickets or request a callback if assistance is needed.

SOS function

In addition, the platform includes an SOS function for sharing the current location during emergencies, as well as the ability to request emergency services. For queries related to NoRKA Care or assistance with claims, the public can contact India’s toll-free numbers available 24 hours a day in Malayalam, English and Hindi: 1860 4191 401, 1860 4191 402. For members residing abroad, in-app call facility is available 9 to 6 days 30 to 6 days via mobile phone (Indian Standard Time).
