In the middle of the ongoing social media discussion on the value of practical skills versus education from the prestigious institution in London, Techie Kunal Kushwaha points out that it seems that the importance of participation in the familiar university seems to be reduced.
In the contribution on the Social Media, Kushwaha, the CTO field and the founder of WeMKedEvs, he described the incident of a graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
His contribution read: “He received a message today that started” I graduate IIT “and asked for recommendations for the role of AI. I understand how difficult a job search can be. It is necessary to reach the courage. But when the messages are short, every word matters. Leadership with college may sometimes miss the opportunity to show you. ”
Kushwaha stressed how the students from the best IIT try to get a job and jobseekers must focus more on the development of skills.
“Even Top Iit has students who fight with location. What really stands out is your work, projects you have created, the problems you solved your passion for the field,” he wrote.
He stressed that the name of the institution is irrelevant when applying for work roles in global societies.
“I want the best for you, but it’s dangerous to think that your college brand will have a difference, maybe it still carries weight, but not if you focus on distant roles in global societies. Now I live in London, now all over the world and I have friends in all sizes.
He also recommended that “lead with your work, not just a name”.
Social media users react
However, most social media users disagreed with Kushwahy’s statement. Many of them emphasized the efforts needed to succeed in competing tests for admission to top universities.
One of the users wrote: “Have a IIT in his title, tells you that this person is already hardworking to break the exam. The work may not be so good, but that is for later. For the introductory message, this person played on their strengths/sales points. Nothing bad imo.
Another user recommended: “Always provide your best achievements when you apply for a recommendation. If your best success is that you have studied hard 6 years ago to make a test. Then you should work to achieve better success.”
One of the users said: “I agree with everything, besides unnecessary IIT branding. People in the Bay area know and value it. It can largely change the entire tone of conversation.”
