Collector P. Ranjith Basha and Superintendant Police (SP) Vikrant Pedil Pedil assured farmers that there was no urea in the cenal district and asked them not to care for its availability. They warned against serious measures against those who accumulate urea or sell it over a fixed price. The collector also assured that farmers of the onions would receive 1,200 GBP for their products for their production brought to the market yard.
The collector and SP checked the availability of urea and onion supplies in the market yard together with officials. The collector, who gives the details of the urea, said there were 3,200 metric tons of urea in the district. Initially, there were problems with the availability of urea in some mandals and immediately responded and solved them, adding that all farmers were still delivered urea.
Mr. Ranjith Basha announced that in the next two days he would arrive in the district of 2,600 metric tons of urea. On this occasion, the collector called on farmers not to use excess urea or nano urea to cultivate their crops. He also called on farmers not to come for the urea for crops Kharif and Rabi at once and make sure that the urea for the Raby season would arrive and would be delivered.
As regards the enforcement of law, he stated that five cases were registered for urea diversion, while 13 were registered for further violations, suspension of three traders and issuing announcements of four merchants. Similarly, 402 metric tons of urea were confiscated worth 1.05 GBP. He said that the government is distributed 70 % of urea shares through Rythh Seva Kendras (RSKS) and PAC, while only 30 % were through private retailers.
Meanwhile, SP Vikrant Patil said that five criminal cases were registered against the traders for the sale of urea above the maximum retail price (MRP) and an illegal offer to Karnataka and Telangana. He said that checks are carried out at all border checks with police officials, excise taxes, alertness and agriculture. “We also perform surprising checks along with the officials of the vigilance department,” he said.
Regarding the cultivation of onion, the collector said the crop was cultivated in nearly 31,000 acres and is expected to yield 1.50 lacked metric tons. Almost 11 174 metric tons of onions were obtained through Markfed and market yards and the government will buy a yield for 1,200 GBP for Quintal. The onion is also made through the bid process and if a trader offers less than 12 GBP per kg, the government will provide the remaining amount directly by farmers, he said.
