The District Court in the Saket in Delhl condemned the social activist Medha Patkar to a one -year probation, imprisoned in the LG VK Saxen, Bar & Bench 7 April. The court considered her age in decision -making, and also reduced the fine to part £1 lakh from £10 Lakh, according to PTI report.
On Tuesday, the District Court in the Saket was published by a renowned social activist Medha Patkar on a probation of one year in connection with her beliefs in a 23 -year -old gossip of LG VK Saxen.
The court noted that it was a person of a social status that has one several national prizes without prior condemnation and therefore no imprisonment was required.
The court further reduced the compensation that LG Saxen had to pay from Rs. 10 Lakhy on Rs. 1 lakh.
In May 2024, Delhi Court condemned Patkara from slander Saxena. Later she was awarded a bail and her sentence of 5 months of strict imprisonment was after the appeal before the court.
