While 18 state -of -the -art drug control authorities have adopted an online National National Drug Licensing System (ODDL) for drug -related licenses, no state has fully adhered to corrective and preventive measures (CAPA), confirmed the source of the Union Ministry.
Both Ondls and Capa are a provision according to the revised plan of the central government, which is a critical update of Indian pharmaceutical production regulations.
“CAPA is essential to ensure the safety and maintenance of high standards in regulated industries, such as drugs. While Ondl streamlines the licenses for drugs and compliance, CAPA is a universal quality management methodology to improve the process,” the official said.
Voluntary observance (with CAPA) is essential for quality maintenance, he said, while talking about the recent deaths of children in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for the consumption of falsified syrup coughs.
Remedial measures
CAPA is also a concept of quality management, which focuses on systematic research and solving problems to prevent them from being repeated. “Consistency with CAPA will ensure that drug disruption is registered and we will take corrective measures,” the official said.
Ondls is a digital platform with one window for processing various licenses related to drugs in India and has been developed by a center for the development of advanced computers (C-DAC) in coordination with standard drug control (CDSCO).
“The system is designed to create a uniform, transparent and responsible process for licensing drugs in all countries and territories.
Data shared with a Hindu show that out of a total of 5,308 MSME pharmaceutical companies (with a turnover of less than 250 GBP) in India, 3,838 has already met a revised M GMP plan.
