Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, once known as “the prince”, is now one of the most disgraced figures in British royal history. King Charles stripped him of all royal titles and honors in October 2025. Now there are reports again that he will not be invited to King Charles’ funeral, whenever it takes place.
Prince William is reportedly planning to ban him from all royal events when he becomes king. The source of this claim dates back to when Andrew lost his titles.
A report by Cosmopolitan claimed that Prince William, next in line to become monarch, will take a strong stand against his uncle.
Andrew’s ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein made matters worse for the former queen, who was already troubled by allegations of sexual abuse.
On February 19, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was later interrogated after 11-12 hours in custody.
Documents released by the US Department of Justice indicate that he allegedly shared confidential government information with Epstein during his time as the UK’s trade envoy. Andrew has denied any wrongdoing.
Cosmopolitan quoted a courtier speaking about Prince William’s decision not to allow Andrew to attend King Charles’ funeral: “It’s not even up for debate. William wants to start his reign clean: no scandal, no shame, no Andrew.”
“She is no longer part of the working royal family. The public outcry would overshadow the service,” another aide commented.
“His title may still be prince, but the palace doors are closing fast,” another insider said before Andrew lost his title.
Eviction of “Prince” Andrew
“Prince” Andrew’s fall from grace is now almost complete in every sense. Royal author Tina Brown has already raised the uncomfortable question of whether Andrew will be allowed to attend King Charles’ funeral.
Reports now suggest the answer is no. This is partly because Prince William apparently can’t stand his uncle. He has reportedly long sought to have him evicted from Royal Lodge, which is close to William and Kate’s Windsor home.
That removal eventually took place. Andrew’s eviction was expedited following the release of new Epstein-related documents in early 2026.
On 2 February he quietly left the Royal Lodge under cover of darkness. He received no financial compensation because the Crown Estate decided the property had been left in a state of disrepair.
Andrew has since moved to Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, the former retreat of his father, Prince Philip.
His permanent residence, Marsh Farm, is undergoing security work. His ex-wife Sarah Ferguson has moved out separately and lives independently.
