Deputy Commissioner Shivamogga Prabhulinga Kavalikatti denied reports of a proposal to set up a power plant at Besur village in Sagar taluk.
When The Hindu contacted the DC on Friday, an officer said that a few days ago, the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) had contacted the district administration to inquire about the availability of over 2,000 acres of land in the district for the project.
