BJP MLA for Krishnaraja TS Srivatsa denied that the party is planning a protest during the Dasar inauguration on the top of Chamundi Hills on Monday.
Mr. Srivatsa pointed out that the party had increased its voice against the writer Ban Mushtaq, who is scheduled to start the Dasar festival, at a press conference. “But we’ll look at the festival,” he said, pointing out that Dasara was a state festival attracted people from different parts of the state and country. “BJP will not be a protest,” he said.
Member of Majadu Yadveer Krishhnadatt Chamaraja Wadiyar, who also presents himself at a press conference, also denied that BJP is planning a protest during inauguration.
However, he said that the party’s leaders protested against Mrs. Mushtaq inaugurating the festival with regard to her announced comments against the flag of Kannada and the deity of Bhuvaneshware during a speech in 2023.
