On Friday, the Supreme Court rejected a petition to register the first information report (companies) against the judge of the Yashwant Varma High Court.
Varma was involved in the controversy after his official residence in Delhi 14. The fire in the House of Justice Varma inadvertently led to recovery of an unseen cash on March 14, several reports claimed earlier.
The incident led to charges of corruption against the judge of Varma. The judge, however, denied the accusation and claimed that it seemed to be a “plot” to create it.
Why did SC reject the lawsuit?
While he refused to entertain a petition looking for companies against Varma, the highest on Friday said the internal investigation was going on.
“After an internal investigation report, if something is found badly, the CJI (Chief Judge India) can direct the registration of companies against Judge Yashwant Varma or refer to parliament,” the court said according to the bar and bench.
“There’s no time to consider it today,” the court added.
The bench of justice Abhay OKA and justice took Bhuyan also stated that the petition was “premature” because internal investigation is expected.
The justice of the eye told the petitioner, advocate Mathews J Nondly: “Mr. Nedumpar, we saw prayers. After the internal investigation there are several options open… After the internal report, all options are open. The petition is premature.”
The Supreme Court previously published a report on the chief judge in Delhi. A detailed report also included the response of the justice of Varma to the accusation.
The main judge of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna launched an internal probe into the accusation of the internal probe and March 22 set up a three -member committee to carry out the probe.
The Committee has already started an investigation.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court also recommended that Judge Varma repatriated to his parent court – the High Court in Allahabad. The central government has to clear the college of decisions, the bar and the bench reported.
