Main Minister Siddaramaiah said on Wednesday that no excise duty would be collected at military canteens. He said that all steps would be taken for the well -being of soldiers.
Mr. Siddaramaiaha, who spoke in Jai Hind Sabha, was organized in honor of the Indian Armed Forces and the felicitation of military personnel in Bengalur in Bengalur, said soldiers, farmers, doctors and teachers are as worshiped as their own parents.
He appreciated the inheritance of Indian soldiers and said that soldiers are involved in national defense with the spirit of the victim.
Representative Minister DK Shivakumar said that the government is considering establishing a corporation for former service staff in the state, after the felicitation of higher military officers, former servants and families of martyrs. The proposal would be discussed at the cabinet meeting before the decision was adopted, he said.
More than a thousand head of the army and former servants took part in the event organized by Congress.
