Former Indian Spinner Harbhajan Singh said India and Pakistan should not play a bilateral cricket series until relations between the two countries improve. The legendary Spinner made these notes before the clash of the Asia Cup group among the Archivals in Dubai.
India and Pakistan will first face the second of the Sindoor Operation, India retaliatory strikes on the terrorist groups in Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack in April. Captains Suryakumar Yadav and Salman Ali Agha They both said that neither party would disappear when they met in Dubai on Sunday.
“Indian-Pakistani matches always come to the center of attention, but after the Sindoor operation, everyone said there should be no cricket and no shop,” Harbhajan told the media during the company magazine event. He added: “We played the World Championship in legends, but we did not play this match against Pakistan.”
After the attack on Pahalgam, the Indian government adopted a policy that suspended bilateral sports ties with Pakistan, while continuing to face multilateral events. Harbhajan, speaking personally, said he did not support cricket or trade in Pakistan, even if he respects the government’s attitude to this matter.
“Everyone has their own way of thinking and understanding, but I feel that until the relationships between the two countries improve, cricket and business should not take place,” he said. “But that’s my idea. If the government says it may happen that it can happen, it should happen, but relations between the two countries should be better.”
When Harbhajan turned to the Indian cricket team, he praised his resistance after retiring Virt Kohli and Rohit Sharma from the T20 cricket.
“If there is a team that can beat the Indian team, it is the Indian team itself – it is such a strong point. Our cricket is on a different level. Even if they are virat and Rohit away, the team is completely ready,” he said.
“Playing in Dubai is almost like playing at home. The role of spinner will be huge and I hope the team will bring the cup back,” he added.
Harbhajan also urged people to support areas affected by floods in Panjab.
“Peo people from the Punjabs have this spirit position for anyone in trouble, not just their own people. Today, Punjab faces disaster; many people and farms have been influenced. I would not be anything without pandjab. Your support is important in any form,” he said.
