Jasprit Bumrah was resting while Karun Nair gained a second chance in England when India made four changes for an oval test. Bumrah was replaced by Prazidhem Krishna, while Akash Deep and Dhruv Jurel came to replace the anshul kartej and Rishabh Pant. India decided to strengthen her order of tabs by bringing Shardul Thakur.
Karun played the first three tests after returning to the test arena after more than 3000 days. In six shifts, however, the score could only 131 runs with a diameter of just over 21 years. All-Rounder recorded three fifties in an oval and Cheteshwar Pujara was not satisfied with the call.
Oval test day 1 Update
“They should go with Shardul. And all the other doughs scored runs, so why do you need another dough? I think I know there is enough grass on this pitch, but still, as Michael says, you have to take 20 goal and how do you have it? So you only have 3 sailors.
“And you may not go with 4 sailors, because if Arshdeep played this game, then you have 4 sailors, but all 4 can’t bat. Therefore, you can’t have 4 sailors. But at the same time, in English conditions you need versatile and Shardul should be a little more trustworthy, and they should play this game.”
The return of Prasidha to the side also meant that Arshdeep Singh was waiting for his test debut for some time. Prasidh was expensive in the first two matches he played. England won the throwing on the day and first decided the field.
