
The National Technology Institute, Calicut (Nit-C), became the first center of the I-Stem catalyst. The announcement in this respect was made during the I-Stems Samavesha-11, which took place on the area on Tuesday, August 5).
The edition said the I-Stem is an Indian national platform that has committed itself to democratizing the approach to advanced scientific infrastructure and promoting innovation of cooperation across sectors. The center is assumed as a strategic center that connects academic institutions, research laboratories, startups and industries in the region to enhance resources sharing, support interinstitutional cooperation and speed up research and innovation.
Samavesha is the flagship of Outreach Initiative Indian Science, Technology and Engineering Facility Maps (I-Stem), operating under the Office of the Chief Scientific Advisor (OPSA), the Indian Government. The aim of the program is to support a fair approach to advanced scientific infrastructure, to enable scientists, startups, industries and academic experts, especially from levels-3 and 4 regions to benefit from facilities and expertise that usually focused on Tier-1 and Tier-2.
