The future of nine students from 2022-2025 doses of Ba BA International Relations Course Central University of Keral (SUK) in its main center hangs in balance due to lack of formal communication about the transition of a three-year university program (UG) of the four-year program in accordance with national educational policy, 2020.
Students point out that the university’s commission announcement in 2024 allows students to implement the UG program according to the selection credit system (CBCS) to follow the four -year university program (FYUGP) and the university concerned should provide bridge courses to allow this transition.
In February this year, the Vice President of the SUK issued an order to cross the three-year BA International Relations 2022-2025 to FYUGP. The notification was signed a few days later and the students were asked to confirm their willingness to choose FYUGP by April 23.
However, no communication was accepted during the transition. Disabled students who completed the sixth semester learned that the meeting of the Academic Council 7. August decided to detain FYUGP for their dose.
Students say that the university’s decision left them in a schedule. For one, it is contrary to the UGC directive. Even more importantly, without the title of honors, the capacity for international master’s programs, UGC-Net and doctoral admission will be lost.
However, Sidda Algur, Vice -President of Algur, said Hindu said that the Academic Council decided that the expansion of a four -year course would create problems for students who had been written to a three -year title. “Students who joined the course have never been said to be a four -year program. They joined to understand that it was three years,” said Prof. Algur.
To ensure that students are not disadvantaged, those who express their willingness will be supported in search of higher education. “I will make it easier for them in the main campus. They can join the two -year postgraduate program, even if the armchairs are full,” said Prof. Algur.
