Nine other Mahalir Vidiyal Payanam buses for free travel for women started on Friday in Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Kumbakonam.
The Minister of the KN Nera Municipal Administration marked the buses at the central bus stand. Mayor M. Anbazhagan, Commissioner of Tiruchi City Corporation V. Saravanan and CEO TNSTC Kumbakonami R. Ponmudi were present.
According to TNSTC sources, about 430 Mahalir Vidiyal Payanam buses were operated in Tiruch and nearly 2,98 lakh women travel every day.
The official edition said that the Tiruchi region was assigned 173 new buses and these 110 were entered. Fifty of them ran in Tiruch’s feelings and the rest on the routes Mofussil. The remaining 63 new buses (26 for the Municipal Service and 37 for Mofussil routes) would soon be listed, stated, added.
