Nine migrating Assam workers died and one person was injured when the scaffold collapsed on the construction site in the Ennore Special Economic Zone Thermal Power near Ponneri on Tuesday (September 30, 2025).
The group of workers built a concrete arch for the thermal power plants of Ennore Season in the amount of 1,320 MW, when the accident occurred, according to a higher official in the office of the police commissioner Avadi. When the scaffolding of iron was installed for the arc construction, they worked at a height of more than 20 feet.

Co -workers immediately saved 10 injured people and plunged them into the Stanley government hospital, but nine of them died on the way, while one injured worker is still treated in the hospital.
Police filed a case and investigating the incident.
