
Several employees of the Nie Institute of Technology (NIE-IT) gathered on Friday outside the campus in Koorgalli in Mysur, claiming that it denied entry. However, the management claimed that the institution had been closed since this year.
Protesting employees said that around 40 teaching and 55 non-teaching employees have been operating in various positions in NIE-IT for several years since the establishment of the institution in 2008.
The teaching and teaching of NIE-IT employees was included in NIE after the Board of Directors began the process of merging the NIE-IT and NIE in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) in 2022.
Employees who claimed that from 2022 to 2025 issued their duties in NIE, they launched a legal battle that challenged the fusion process when the NIE management council took several steps “illegally”. Protesting employees complained that the management did not take into account their combined seniority in both institutions.
Employees who complained that the leadership refused to enter the campus that the development of “deeply concerned”, which influenced their “safety and the future of employment”.

Meanwhile, the Honorary Secretary of the Nie-Management Committee Uday Shankar stated in his statement that the NIE-IT decision was taken, which falls under the foundation.
All approval were taken from AICTE (part of UGC), Visvesvaraya Technological University and State Governments for Progressive Closing, he added that the university was closed this year according to standards.
“At the same time, according to the instructions of the statutory bodies, the National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Manandavadi Road, Mysur, took the physical infrastructure of NIE-IT to rent and expands the educational services on the northern campus,” the statement said.
“NIE-IT employees have been offered a voluntary separation department with a substantial financial package and also proposed to apply for jobs and participate in the selection process. Those who did not volunteer were released from work with financial benefits.”
