The premium Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) along the Nice Road has changed to one of its achievements. The route started in December 2023 to provide faster access between Tumacura Road and Electronics City.
The service, known as Nice-10, connects Madavar on the Tumacura road with Electronics City by using the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE), which connects the Tumacura Road with Hosur Road. Officials stated that the strategic use of this toll section allowed BMTC to circumvent some of the most congested roads in the city, which made this service a preferred choice for visitors to the IT corridor.
Positive performance
During its first anniversary celebrations in December 2024, this service transported more than 25 passengers of Lakhů in the opening year and received a profit of 1.09 Crore. Hindu accessible data, between July 2024 and August 2025 show how much riding has been expanded: 26 plans work daily with 168 trips and cover a total efficient distance of more than 31.1 lakh km. During this period, the service carried 37,66,702 passengers and brought 17,13,62 527 GBP.
“This has become the most sought-after BMTC service on Nice Road.
Shorter travel time, higher efficiency
One of the greatest reasons for its popularity is shortening the travel time. “The ride takes about 45 to 60 minutes, compared to the delay that people face on city roads. Therefore, passengers prefer Nice-10,” said another higher official.
BMTC estimates that on average, approximately three lakh people use the route each month. Buses cover almost 360 km a day on Nice Road, compared to only 200 km on city roads, where overloads will significantly decrease to operating efficiency. A smoother traffic flow on a nice road also means better fuel efficiency. “In this section, buses manage 5 km per liter, while within the city limits the average decreases to 3 km per liter,” the clerk said.
Commuters
Passengers say that the Nice-10 service has transformed their daily commuting. Manoj Kumar, who regularly travels from Nagasandra, said: “This service was a complete game converter. I will save almost an hour every day compared to regular urban routes and the journey is much more comfortable.”
Punic Sharma, another frequent user who commutes between Madavar and Electronics City, said “The reliability of this service is its greatest strength. I no longer have to waste time stuck in unpredictable operation. It helps me get into the office in time and without stress,” he said.
Concerns about the lack of bus shelters
Despite the strong reaction, the regular commuters pointed out a serious disadvantage in the service of Nice-10-sneaky of the right bus hiding along a nice road. Without the specified stop points, many passengers are forced to wait for the road, exposed to the sun or rain.
Santosh N., a daily passenger who, on board near Bannerghatta Road Bate Gate, said the situation is difficult. “The service is excellent, but waiting for the bus is a real challenge. Standing on the road without any shelter in the heat or rain is exhausting and dangerous. BMTC must build the right bus stops along this section to wait comfortably,” he added.
Asked about this problem, BMTC officials have acknowledged this problem, but stated that it requires coordination with a private road operator. “We have to organize discussions with nice authorities before it is possible to take decisions on bus horses,” he explained the official.
