The National Investigation Agency (NIA) was accused of Maoist cadre for its involvement in the targeted killing of the Army Personnel in Chhattisgarh last year, officials said on Saturday (June 7, 2025).
The defendant was identified as Ashu Korsa of Bijapur in Chhattisgarh in accusing before the special court of Nia in Jagdalpur on Friday, they said.
According to an official statement, the NIA investigation revealed in this case that the accused was involved in CPI (Maoist), forbidden terrorist organizations to kill Motiram Achal.
“The victim was shot by the armed cadre CPI (Maoist) during the visit of the USI Village in Amabeda in the Kanker District area with its family members on 25 February last year,” Nia said.
The NIA took over the case registered by the local police, 29 February 2024. It was found that Korsa was an active armed cadre of the Kuyemari area in the North Bastar Division, operating within the CPI (Maoist), a statement.
“Together with other head Maoist, he identified Motiram Achal and killed him,” he added.
Korsa was arrested in December last year in connection with the conspiracy focused on affecting terror in the minds of people in this area, the statement said.
