The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a 64-year-old man from Jangaon district for allegedly promoting and supporting the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit, officials said on Sunday.
The arranged was identified as Gadae innaiah alias inna redy, the result of regadi THAT IN ZAFPSHANDADH MANDAH. According to nia, he was taken into custody from the Ma Illu Prajana ashram in the same village.
A case was registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The NIA said Innaiah, while addressing a rally during the funeral of a late CPI (Maoist) worker in Vikalp, allegedly encouraged support for the organisation. He expressed his intention to support the activities of CPI (Maoist) and incited those present to engage in illegal activities to continue the Maoist revolution.
