The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Thursday (May 1, 2025) issued the government of Madhya Pradesh an incident announcement in which the police did not find a six-year-old girl who disappeared from under urine in the Koh-E-Fiza area in Bhopal, 18 days ago.
According to media reports, the girl’s mother of homeless people with eight children suspect that the involvement of one of the relatives in the disappearance of her daughter, but the police do not carry out a fair investigation and have not yet been arrested.
The Commission also noted reports that showed that it was not one case of disappearance, because over the past three years, more than 3,400 women and girls have disappeared in the state, according to Madhya Pradesh’s police. The CCTV networks in the state are also irregular, the rapid reaction teams are missing in action and there is no coordination between units. The journey under the title “Muskan Operation” was launched last year by the state police to save and rehabilitate missing girls who did not show any results.
The observation that the incident raises a serious question of violating the human rights of a minor girl and her mother has issued a NHRC announcement to the main secretary and general director to the government Madhya Pradesh and called for a detailed report in the matter within two weeks.
