National Human Rights (NHRC) on Thursday (May 1, 2025) issued a Bihara government announcement of an incident, where more than 100 children became ill after the consumption of noon food at the Mokama Government School in Patna on April 24th.
Reportedly, the chef served food to children after removing a dead snake. The reports that the children had become ill after eating with food reached the villagers who blocked the way to protest.
The Commission, which noted that the incident raised serious questions about human rights violations and issued the announcement to the main secretary, the Bihar government and the head of the police supervisor Patnu Bihar, calling for a detailed report within two weeks. The report is expected to include the health status of children.
