
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) launched a two -day open hearing and a camp at the Institute for Human Resources Development on Monday 28 July. MCR in Hyderabad, dealing with a number of complaints and cases related to human rights violations in Telangana.
The meeting was part of the Commission’s efforts to provide early and effective compensation of complaints and at the same time strengthened the responsibility between public authorities. Hearing, which dealt with a spectrum of questions, including discrimination on the basis of caste, social boycott, violence violence, police excess and violation of rights to life, dignity, freedom and livelihood, released.
The hearing was carried out in a timely binding and a transparent manner, and the Commission issued the authorities concerned for rapid proceedings. In cases where violations were justified, NHRC recommended and granted money compensation.

In addition, a full bench was set up to consider selected cases of significant public interest, including those initiated by the SUO Moto.
On Tuesday (July 29), the second day of the visit, NHRC members are scheduled to meet higher Theangana government officials to review the measures taken on the previous recommendation. Representatives of NGOs and groups of civil society are also dealt with to further understand the landscape of human rights in the state, the release said.
