
The Indian National Highway Office (NHAI) approved the CRORE project of 3.57 GBP for the construction of the road in parallel with an existing bridge in Valakode, Punaluru on the National Highway 744, NK Premacandran, MP, said. The narrow bridge in Valakode caused serious traffic jams in this area. The accidents in Most and around it also increased how the vehicles accelerate to cross it and try to avoid traffic growth. “Valakode was not declared a black spot. Due to the risk of the accident, we asked Nhai to include Valakode as a potential black spot in a special project to facilitate road development and lead several discussions at official and ministerial levels.
The project includes the construction of a 5.5 -meter -wide road parallel to an existing bridge, above the railway line. The road development project was submitted and approved after a joint inspection on the spot and discussions between railway officials and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). It is planned to develop 10 meters wide road by combining the existing 4.5 meters width with a newly produced 5.5 meters width. Currently, the maintenance of the national motorway is carried out by the National Motorway Division of the Public Work Department. Nhai decided to entrust the construction of the newly sanctioned CRORE VALAKODE road on the national motorway division of 3.57 GBP. Nhai will store the CRORE 3.57 GBP project with the national public work division.
