Santosh Kumar Yadav, chairman of the National Motorway Office of India (Nhai), arrived at Keraly on Sunday to evaluate the progress of various national highway projects in the state. Mr. Yadav led a comprehensive control of project sections in the Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts with a focus on structurally sensitive areas and zones susceptible to drainage and vulnerability related to water.
The inspection also covered key places such as Eenchakkal, Kazhakuttam, Chembakamangalam, Kottiyam and Mevaram. These places include vertical sections with high cuts and areas requiring urgent stability and water flow control. The chairman was accompanied by technical experts from a concessionaire, an independent engineer, project director Thiruvananthapurama and regional officer Nhai, Keral.
A high -level revision meeting was planned to assess progress in various national highway projects in the state. This meeting will include all Nhai projects, concessionaries, consultants and suppliers involved in the implementation of national highway projects across Kerala. Key discussion points will include acceleration of project schedules, improving the quality of construction, strengthening monitoring mechanisms and minimizing public inconvenience.
The chairman of Nhai also meets the main secretary who deals with critical challenges affecting the development of the national highway. The meeting will focus on solving system narrow places, to improve coordination between agencies and planning strategic interventions for smoother implementation of current and future projects.
