Ramanattukar-vengalam work on the National Highway-66 is expected to be completed by the end of June.
The supplier, KMC Constructions, received a deadline on June 6 to complete the work, but the company has begged the Indian National Highway (NHAI) to extend and has quoted heavy and unexpected rain in the last few weeks as an obstacle to the completion of the work. Nhai complied with the application and the deadline was extended until the end of June.
Meanwhile, the works were almost completed with the exception of the intersection of Malapparamba and the Toll Square in Koothathumpar between Palazhi and Pantheerankava.
The road was opened for operation on both sides in Malapparamba, while the service road must still be completed. The service road must be reinforced by nailing the soil because one side was carved for the road.
The design of the toll square in Koothathumpar proceeds quickly. The structure of the square is complete towards the side of Ramanattukar, while the one towards the side of Vengalam is under construction. It is expected to be completed in a week.
The specific work of the Kapuzha bridge was also completed. The boards were located almost everywhere along the section, with the input and exit points marked.
The construction of Reach Valanchery-Gramanattukar, which covers most of the Malappuram district, and the range of Vengalam-Azhiyoor, which covers the rest of the Kozhikode district, is far from being completed.
