There is growing demand for WWE to make significant changes to the names of stars like Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, and others. A prominent figure has now responded to these calls.
A fan recently commented on the name changes for Dominik Mysterio and Seth Rollins, suggesting it’s time to revert the names of The Ring General, Ludwig Kaiser, and other stars to their original forms.
“Now let’s get ‘Gunther’ back to WALTER, ‘Axiom’ back to A-Kid, ‘Nathan Frazier’ back to Ben Carter, ‘Oro Mensah’ back to Oliver Carter, ‘Ludwig Kaiser’ back to Marcel Barthel, and ‘Alba Fyre’ back to Kay Lee Ray.”
Oro Mensah, however, has made it clear that he doesn’t want his name changed. He stated that he personally chose his current name and it wasn’t a decision imposed by WWE.
Cody Rhodes’ uncle is a WWE Hall of Famer. More details HERE.
“Nah, I‘m good. I chose and wanted my name ,” he wrote.
WWE has scaled back major name changes since Triple H took charge after Vince McMahon
While Oro Mensah has made his stance clear, fans will have to wait and see if WWE makes any further name changes. Historically, the company has frequently altered the names of its stars, often with significant and sometimes unusual changes.
However, since Vince McMahon’s reduced involvement in the company, there have been fewer name changes in recent years, and this trend seems likely to continue. McMahon was responsible for changing WALTER’s name to Gunther and Marcel Barthel’s name to Ludwig Kaiser when they moved to the main roster. While some changes still occur, they are now less frequent.
