After an incredible 2024, which saw her win multiple Olympic medals, Regan Smith is gearing up to kick off her 2025 season. The swimmer recently hinted at her participation in the TYR Pro Swim Series, marking her first competition of the year.
The opening leg of the TYR Pro Swim Series 2025 is set to take place at the FMC Natatorium in Westmont, Illinois, from March 5 to 8. The event will feature a total of 17 events, showcasing some of the nation’s top swimmers.
On Thursday, February 27, the official Instagram account of USA Swimming shared photos from previous editions of the TYR Pro Swim Series. Regan Smith reposted the images on her Instagram story with the caption:
"Next week !!!!"
Smith is returning to the Westmont leg of the TYR Pro Swim Series as the defending champion in the 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke, and 200m Butterfly events.
Regan Smith Reflects on Her Paris Olympic Campaign
For Regan Smith, 2024 was a standout year. After delivering several impressive performances on the domestic circuit, including setting a world record in the 100m Backstroke, she headed to the Paris Olympics. There, she secured silver medals in the 100m and 200m Backstroke events, as well as the 200m Butterfly. She also claimed gold medals in the 4x100m Medley and 4x100m Mixed Medley relays.
Reflecting on her Paris Olympic experience, Smith told Forbes:
"Coming from the Tokyo Olympics, where there were no spectators and I couldn’t share my successes with my family, Paris was truly special. I was incredibly motivated because I knew that after each event, I could celebrate with my family, friends, and teammates. The atmosphere in the stadium was something I’ll never forget."
Following her Paris campaign, Smith continued her dominance at the 2024 World Championships. She won gold in the 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke, and 4x100m Medley. She also earned silver in the 200m Butterfly and 4x100m Mixed Medley, along with a bronze in the Mixed 4x50m Medley.
