
New Delhi: Ramanujan College director at the University of Delhi was suspended over the allegations of harassment, which was a member of a faculty who called “false, invented, politically motivated and without merit”.
There was no immediate reaction at the university.
The fees that have balanced by a member of the faculty include accusations of harassment and misconduct. The director was suspended on 18 September.
In a letter to the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) of 13 September, certainty claimed that the complaint (a member of the faculty) was a “coordinated attempt at her colleagues to frame and release me”, which was “retaliation” and “filed immediately after the faculty promotion.
University sources said a three -member committee was created to explore the accusation of harassment, and the director was suspended on the basis of his findings.
The report was presented by Vice -President Yogesh Singh and the accusations will now be referred to the Committee for the Inner Complaints along with the Committee report, the sources said.
In his letter, the director said he faced “serious mental, emotional and professional anxiety” for accusations against him.
He also claimed political influence and said he was under pressure to grant promotion, and failed that “threatened to be framed in the case of sexual harassment”.
He claimed that the accusation was not initially referred to as the Inner Complaint Committee as ordered under the UGC and Nobl rules and the law, claiming that he faced “undue political pressure to resign from my position under the threat of ending/suspension”.
“I have never dealt with any misconduct, sexual or otherwise, against any colleague or individual,” the director said, asking “conspiracy, manipulated and unfounded accusations filed against me to be rejected as a whole”.
He was also looking for “necessary protection against harmful and politically motivated victimization”.
