Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina urged paparazzi to give a warm welcome to Team India players as they returned to Mumbai following their triumphant victory in the 2025 Champions Trophy. The cricketer-turned-commentator specifically highlighted the contributions of captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer, among others.
While Rohit and Iyer hail from Mumbai, Kohli has recently made Alibaug his home, living alongside Bollywood stars Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal in the city.
In a video clip, Raina was seen outside what appeared to be Mumbai airport, where he addressed the paparazzi (via Pinkvilla):
“Did you watch the match (CT final)? When Rohit Sharma arrives, cheer for him. He’s worked really hard. Virat, Rohit, Shreyas Iyer… KL Rahul.”

Raina’s remarks came after Rohit became the second most successful Indian captain, leading the Men in Blue to back-to-back ICC trophies. MS Dhoni remains at the top of the list with three ICC titles. Notably, Raina himself was part of India’s 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy victories. Since retiring, he has transitioned into a successful commentary career.

Rohit further confirmed his commitment to the 50-over format during a post-match press conference (via NDTV):

Adding his voice to the conversation, Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh, encouraged both Rohit and Kohli to continue playing until the 2027 ODI World Cup. He told ANI:
“The best thing is that Rohit Sharma said he is not retiring. Well done, my son. Nobody can retire Rohit and Virat. They should think about retirement after winning the 2027 ODI World Cup. I had said this before India would win.”
