TOSS: New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat against Bangladesh.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz: Yes, I love bowling first because it’s a new pitch and it’s also a new wicket. It was a great series for us (against Pakistan) and a lot of our bowlers played really well. We have a very good bowling attack, two spinners and three fast bowlers. You never know what wicket (at Mirpur) we are playing on, but it looks like a good surface.
Course Report: HD Ackerman assesses the surface. He mentions that it’s usually very dry, but this wicket seems to be running nicely and the ball is getting on the bat. It states that the boundaries of the square are 58 m and 69 m and it is a 79 m encroachment into the city center. He reckons Bangladesh won’t mind chasing as it looks like a good wicket.
Tom Latham: We’ll have a bat. It looks a fairly good surface, it looks slightly dry and it’s a day game so it will potentially slow down later on. We have three real seamstresses, a left hand and then a few jack of all trades. The boys are reluctant to go. It’s been a hot couple of days but we’ll take what Bangladesh has in store for us.
