According to official release on Tuesday, the Minister for Health, Education and Family Care Y. Satya Kumar Yadav approved the establishment of a homeopathic university in the village of Muthirevula in Puthalapatt Mandal in the district. The private university, which will be operated by Srinivasa Education Society, will bear the name “Venkateswara Homeopathy Medical College and Hospital” and admits 100 students every year. The company already has a 50 bed hospital.
According to a press release, the Minister approved the proposal after a detailed review of the availability of the required infrastructure and other equipment.
Currently, there are seven homeopathy in the state with 500 university students in five and a half -year bachelor of homeopathic medicine and surgery (BHMS). Of these seven, three are government universities located in Gudivada, Rajahmahandramat and Kadapa, 120 students admit a year. The other four are private colleges of homeopathy, which are located in Guntakal, Tirupathi, Tadepallegud and Vizianagararam. Their income is about 400 students a year.
Each of these universities in homeopathy provides about 250 people and in-in-in-patient services to 15 persons a day.
