Given that the new Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI (M)) District Committees equipped with state -of -the -art devices will be open next month, a historic book documenting the party’s struggle in Kannur will be moved.
Ledger, which was held at the Office of the District Committee of the Azhikodan Samaraka Mandiram, written by comrade Sreenivasan, who became the secretary of the party in 1970, stands as a valuable testimony to the party’s inheritance. The record carefully preserves the history of the party’s fighting during the era, when the communication regimes were limited and the leadership could not respond quickly to major development.
Mr. Sreenivasan, Parasninicadav resident, said the book played a key role in recording all the details and events of the reported office at a time when the news was passed either in person or through phones. “All information was carefully documented in the book. It served as a primary source of information for the party leaders and now remains a rich historical record,” he added.
Many accounts in the book include the 1976 protest, police brutality, Koothuparamba shooting and other important events in the district, Sreenivasan said. Ledger also documents how he was after the murder of Azhikodan Raghavan 23 September 1972 after the murder of Azhikodan Raghavan won the Azhikodan family.
Sreenivasan, a graduate of ITI, who left the government’s work to devote his life to the side of the side, has seen the way aside the changing times. His possession as an office secretary began when the MV Raghavan worked as a party secretary, followed by the leadership of PATYAM GOPALAN, Chadayan Govindan, Pinarayi Vijayan, Kodiyeri Balakrishhnan, T. Govindan, EP Jayarajan, P. Sasi, P. Sasi, MV Jayaai.
“The building can change, but the history and victims recorded in the book are eternal,” said Mr. Sreenivasan, now at the age of 80.
