
The state cabinet has decided to construct a new headquarters for the Kerala Media Academy at Kakkanad with an investment of ₹31.56 crore to be funded by the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB).
TV Subhash, Special Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department issued the order based on the government’s decision.
The building will have two basements, a ground floor, two upper floors and a terrace. The five-story building will total 90,610 square feet. The design was prepared by Habitat Group.
The 46-year-old Kerala Media Academy remains a national-level institution for media studies and research functioning under the state government. The academy will lose its existing building and 75 cents of its 3.20-acre campus for the second phase of the Kochi Metro.
