The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday (February 24, 2026) released new collectorates for Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram and Karur districts. S. Malathi Helen was appointed as Collector of Chengalpattu, while D. Sneha and G. Ravikumar were appointed as Collectors of Kancheepuram and Karur districts.
R. Jaya has been appointed as Secretary, Special Initiatives Department as incumbent K. Gopal is scheduled to retire on February 28. Kalaiselvi Mohan was appointed Director of the Department of Economics and Statistics. On his return from Central deputation, Chandra Sekhar Sakhamuri was appointed as the Director General of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority.
The government also appointed A. Shanmuga Sundaram as secretary, Tamil Nadu State Election Commission, while N. Ponmani was appointed as joint commissioner, commercial tax department, Erode.
