The E1 Ep Eand Extension Project
In August 2025, Israel was when a large settlement project on the occupied West Bank, a step widely criticized for the threat to the prospect of a future Palestinian state. The plan includes the construction of approximately 3,400 houses on a highly sensitive area located between Jerusalem and Maale Adumim.
The controversial E1 project, located between Jerusalem and Maale Adumim, includes the construction of about 12 km2, long sought for Palestinian statehood. The initiative, which has stopped for years due to international opposition, received a final approval last month from the Commission for the Planning of the Ministry of Defense Israeli defense.
The project, including new roads and infrastructure upgrades, is estimated to be nearly $ 1 billion and could add thousands of housing units and effectively divide it to the West Bank.
International reactions and concerns about two state
The extension of the settlement has triggered rapid criticism between the international community. UN Secretary General Antonio warned that the building on E1 would “split the West Bank in two” and endanger the viability of the neighboring Palestinian state.
Several Western governments, including Britain and France, indicated that at the end of this month they could formally recognize the Palestinian state in the UN if Israel disagrees with the ceasefire in Gaza.
All settlements of Israel on the West Bank of Jordan… are considered unlawful under international law.
Netanyahu prevents Israeli strike in Qatar
Netanyahu also dealt with recent military operations, including Israeli strike in Doha focused on Hamas Leaders. Drew Parallels among Hamas on October 7, 2023 attacks on Israel and attacks of September 11, 2001 in the US.
“We remember 11th September … We also have 11 September. On that day, Islamic terrorists committed the worst savages against the Jewish people from the Holocaust,” Netanyahu said.
“We acted yesterday in these lines. We went after a terrorist championship who committed a massacre of October 7.”
Netanyahu warned Qatar and other nations that protected terrorists: “Either you exclude them or put them in court. Because if you don’t do that, we’ll do it.”
The strike that killed the security agent Katari and five others, but did not rule out targeted figures of Hamas, triggered criticism from Qatar and some Western allies, and US President Donald Trump said he was “very unfortunate from every aspect” of the operation.
Escalation tension in the middle of the war in Gaza
The expansion of the E1 settlement and the military strikes come in the middle of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Palestinian militant group Hamas’ 7. October resulted in approximately 1200 deaths and more than 250 hostages, with about 20 still believed it was alive.
