
The authorities in Nepal accused former Prime Minister Madhava Kumar Nepal with corruption and demanded a fine of a million dollars over the purchase of land owned by an Indian gurus guru Babou Ramdev on Friday.
Nepal, Prime Minister from 2009 to 2011, is facing the accusation of allowing Patanjali Yogpeet Nepal to buy more land than legally allowed to own herbs, processing and hospital in the Himalayan nation 15 years ago.
Both Nepal and Patanjali Yogpeeth deny any offense.

“I did not do anything illegal or indulged in any corruption regarding the Patanjali Land Agreement that would cause any state loss,” Nepal told Kantipur’s daily newspaper.
The Commission for investigating the abuse of authority (CIAA), a guard dog of corruption, claimed that some land in the Kavre district was later allowed to be confused to another land or sold at a higher price, which caused the state to lose.
The accusation was set out in the fee filed on Thursday at the Special Court in Kathmandu.
The Commission demanded that Nepal be ordered to pay a fine of 185.85 million Nepalese rupees ($ 1.35 million). If it was found guilty, he could also be sentenced to 17 years in prison.
Patanjali spokesman denied any unlawful conduct in India and said he had bought the land privately through a proper legal process.
“Patanjali did not receive any government land. It is unfair to drag our name in local political events and proceedings,” said SK Tijarawala, spokesman Patanjali, Reuters agency in a text message.
The Commission also accused 92 others, including some former ministers and officials, some of whom are already dead.
Yaga Raj Regmi, an information clerk of the Court of Justice, said that Nepal would receive a formal notice of a court that would give him 15 days when he would introduce himself in court and then began the hearing.
