
The Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy addressed officials during the meeting of the Council of irrigation by the Chairman of the District Collector O. Anand in the NELLORA Conference Hall on Thursday.
With the consent of all presidents of the association of local and the Association of Local Hlas and Water Users, a resolution was assigned to assign 41 TMCft water for more than 3 acres for the second crop in the Rabi season, Minister Anam Ramanaharayana Reddy introduced on Thursday.
“The water from the Somasil reservoir will be released on the channels of crops from May 5th. During these three months, the irrigation officials will cooperate with the presidents of water users to provide farmers in the right way,” said Minister and congratulations to the newly elected Chairmans of Association of Water Users.
“District Currently Has a Storage Capacity of 52.653 TMCft of Water in Somasila Reservoir, 3.615 TMCft of Water in Kanigiri and Sarvepalli reservoirs. About 43.768 TMCft TMCft of Water Vapour, and 3.500 TMCft for Drinking Water Needs of the People in Nellore City Limits, Kavali, Allur, Attakur and other cities, ”he said.
The Minister urged everyone to work in the use of water in a planned way, approximately 36 TMCFT water for rabbi crops need for irrigation of crops and storing 10 TMCFT water for future needs and the upcoming crop kharif. Based on this availability of water, the authorities proposed allocation 43.42 TMCFT of water for a total area of 3.69 lakh acres.
He said that the government issued a Crore 18 GBP for the main and small irrigation work in the district and advised officials to deal with the work of the MAS of the relevant constituents and presidents of the Association of Water Users. The Minister added that the despair of small irrigation channels must be carried out.
