NEET UG paper leak case: CBI indicts 13 accused, Delhi court to hear matter on Wednesday | Today’s news
The CBI on Tuesday filed chargesheet against 13 accused persons in the NEET UG paper leak case at the Rouse Avenue court in the state capital.
The charge sheet is due to be presented tomorrow to a special fast-track court that will hear the paper leak case. The charge sheet was filed by the Economic Offenses Division of the CBI.
This case was registered according to § 315 paragraph 5, 318 paragraph 4, 61 paragraph 2, 238, 303 paragraph 2 BNS 2023 and section. 13 paragraph 2 as amended with 13 paragraph 1 letter a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PC) of 1988 and § 10 as amended with § 3, 4, 5 and § 11 of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
The accused persons namely Yash Yadav, Mangilal Biwal, Dinesh Biwal, Vikas Biwal, Subham Khairnar, Dhananjay Lokhande, Prahalad Kulkarni, Tejas Harshad Kumar, Dr. Manoj Shirure, Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, Manisha Waghmare, Manishacusto Mandhare, Judges are in Manishacusto Sandhare, Manishacusto Sandhare.
The CBI has kept open further investigations to probe the role of NTA officials. Recently, 47 NTA officials were suspended.
On May 12, an FIR was registered on a Complaint filed by a public servant under sections of the BNS, Prevention of Corruption Act, Offenses of Using Unfair Means in Examinations, etc.
The CBI claims that Mangilal Biwal contacted Shubham Khairnar to get the NEET question paper for his son Vikas Biwal. Question papers were recovered from the mobile phone of Mangilal Biwala.
The agency said Mangilal received the leaked NEET UG Paper from Yash Yadav for a deal of Rs. 10 lakhs. During questioning, Mangilal’s son Vikas Biwal said he came in contact with Yash Yadav during a coaching session in Sikar, Rajasthan.
Reportedly, Mangilal Biwal contacted Shubham Khairnar regarding a question for his son Vikas Biwal. A larger chain was then formed with other accused persons.
It is also alleged that Shubham first leaked the paper to Yash, then Yash to Mangilal, Vikas and Dinesh Biwala.
It is also alleged that Mangi Lal resold the leaked paper to various candidates for Rs. 12 million.
The court allowed accused Yash Yadav to appear for the NEET UG exam scheduled on June 21 and attend his sister’s wedding on June 22 in judicial custody.
