NEET-UG 2026: Bihar Police arrests four for selling fake question papers to aspirants and their parents ahead of re-exam | Today’s news

Bihar police have arrested four persons for allegedly selling fake question papers for various exams, including the National Eligibility Test (NEET-UG), to candidates and their parents in Muzaffarpur district, a senior police official said on Sunday.

According to an official statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the NEET examination is scheduled to be held on June 21.

The accused have been identified as Harsh, Aman Kumar, Kanhaiya Kumar and Harsh Kanodiya.

Four were taken into custody on Saturday evening, the police seized three mobile phones from them during the raid.

“The arrested persons were running a network to cheat desperate parents by selling them fake question papers of various examinations, including NEET, through social media platforms,” ​​Muzffarpur Superintendent of Police Kantesh Kumar Mishra was quoted as saying by PTI.

“Acting on information provided by one Manish Jha, who was arrested on June 2 from Balu Ghat area under the jurisdiction of Sikandarpur police station on the same charges, the police arrested four of his associates on Saturday,” he added.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted that they used social media platforms to deceive exam aspirants by falsely claiming that they could provide authentic questions for various competitive exams.

“They collected money through online transfers to bank accounts and then handed over the collected amount to Manish Jha,” the SSP said, adding that the investigation was on.

NEET-UG 2026 Re-examination

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will provide an additional 15 minutes to candidates appearing for the NEET examination. He also assured the students that the test scheduled for June 21 would be smooth and well managed. Pradhan made these remarks after his arrival in Bhopal, where he was received at the airport by several senior BJP leaders.

“NEET exam will be held again on June 21. I appeal to all NEET students through all of you: have faith and focus on your studies. NEET exam will be conducted in a very organized manner on 21st. I appeal to all through you; society’s cooperation is required. NTA has decided to give them another 15 minutes,” ANI quoted Pradhana as saying.

Earlier, Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan chaired a meeting with the NTA CEO to review preparations for the upcoming review.

During the review, Somanathan emphasized the importance of ensuring that the trial runs smoothly, transparently and safely, with effective coordination among all stakeholders.

The Cabinet Secretary said, “The Central Government, State Governments and District Administrations are working closely together to ensure the smooth conduct of the NEET examination. The full force and weight of the law falls on any person who in any way attempts to disrupt, disrupt or interfere with the integrity or smooth conduct of the examination.”

Somanathan reviewed the preparations with Central Government Secretaries and officials from concerned agencies on 1 June 2026.

Later, he held another review meeting on June 4 with the Chief Secretaries of various state governments to review the readiness and progress of arrangements for the trial.
