Nikhil Sonnad, a native of Vijayapury, who studied at the expert PU College, Mangalur, appeared as a topper from Karnataka after the National Test Agency (NTA) announced the result of Neet (UG) -2025 on Saturday.
He received All India Rank (Air) 17 and scored 670 stamps (99.99%) out of 720 in Neet. This year he secured 98.3% in the II PU tests in the scientific stream and his aim is to join the Institute for Medical Sciences All India (Aiims) Delhi. He also ensured the 8th rank in B.Sc (Agriculture) in CET-2025.
When he talked to the Hindus, Nikhil said, “I never followed a fixed schedule in the studio. I was always flexible. This year he was hard. Physical questions were very difficult. But I read and understand without being nervous and answering them.
Nikhil was born to his doctor’s parents and expressed his desire to devote himself to his career in cancer research and became a medical entrepreneur after his postgraduate study.
This year, four students from Karnataka got to the 50 best ranks of all India. Ruchir Gupta, Student Alpine Public School, Bengaluru, secured Air-22, Tejas Shailesh Ghotgalkar has Air-38 and Pansshu Jahagirdar of Allen Career Institute, Bengaluru, has Air-42.
According to NTA from 1,42,369 Karnatak students who appeared, up to 83,582 eligible to participate in the consulting process this year.
Compared to the previous year, the number of candidates qualified from Karnataka decreased this year. Last year 88,887 qualified.
Under persons with benchmark disability (PWBD-MALA), Gautam Kumar of Karnataka appeared as a national topper with Air-1 684.
Neet was carried out in 13 languages, including Kannada, this year and 460 candidates registered in Cannada against last year’s 1,065.
This year, out of 22,09,318 candidates who appeared on the rehearsal, 12,36,531 were qualified from all over the country. Of the 11 Transgender, six qualified.
The test was carried out 4 May at 5,468 different centers in 552 cities across the country, of which 14 outside India.
