He won gold games on Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, Asian Championships, South Asian Games, Paavo Nurmi Games and World U-20 Championships. He was recognized by the Padma Shri Award for his achievements and brought honor to the country.
Yet the event next month, moved from Panchkuly to Bengalur for logistics reasons, believes it is his contribution to the nation. Neeri Chopra Classic, or NC Classic, will see daylight 24. In the process, Mondo Duplantis and Keely Hodgkinson, who have tournaments named after them, will join.

“At first, I didn’t know anything about it. As I always said when I started competing, I didn’t have a sports background. I didn’t even know if I could participate in India,” Neeraj said in media interaction.
“I was working hard, step by step and improved. When I started playing international level, especially in the Diamond League, I competed with foreign athletes. At that time I realized that I could do anything and after winning the Olympic medals.
“I’m very excited. I won the Olympic and other medals for the country.

Which aspect of NC Classic do you consider the most exciting?
The category A, according to World Athletics, will see participation from Grenada’s Anderson Peters and German Thomas Rohler. Peters is a double world champion and Rohler is a gold medalist from the 2016 Olympic Games. Chopra said he also invited the Pakistani Olympic champion Arshad Nada, but still has to obtain confirmation.

“There are many things I didn’t know that it existed. That the light is not clear enough, it should be so luxurious. I didn’t even know. We just knew we had to go and play. The lights are on. But are things like the lights needed to show the public.
“Food, spears, grass, track, dressing rooms, public sitting rooms are everything I didn’t know were important. But you need to keep in mind,” Chopra said about the challenges of organizing the event.

27 -year -old man said NC Classic would be an annual competition and hopes that events other than Javelin will be added in the future. Initially planned on Panchkula, the event was moved to Bengalur for logistics reasons.
“I wanted this event in Panchkule, but there are some lighting problems at the stadium. The requirement for world athletics is 600 lux (light intensity) that is not there (in Panchkule) and it will be time to (install),” he said.
“So we decided to move the event to the Kanterava Stadium in Bengalur. We have a team there and it will be much easier for this event to appear,” said a 27 -year -old man who is also supported by Bengalur based in JSW Sports.
The NC Classic will be organized together with Athlete and JSW Sports in cooperation with the Athletics Federation in India (AFI) and World Athletics.
In addition to international athletes, this event will also represent Indian athletes as Rohit Yadav. Chopra revealed that there would be space for three four Indians, including themselves.
