
The Double Olympic Medalist of Indian Javelin Neer Chopra will compete for athletics Ostrava Golden Spike 2025 in the Czech Republic 24 June and hope to be third after the last two editions for injuries.
The Golden Medalist of the Tokyo Olympic Games was to participate in the release of the tournament 2023 and 2024, but on both occasions he pulled out after injury.
Last year, however, he was in Ostrava as a special guest of the competition, which is the most prestigious annual athletic event in the country. The tournament will see Chopra to compete in its legendary new coach Jan Zelezny’s home lawn.
“I am excited to announce that I will attend the Golden Spike meeting this year in Ostrava. It is a legendary race and this year will be exceptional. My coach Jan Elezn has not only won there many times, but also works as a director of the event.
“I feel great and I hope you will see really nice and far -reaching holidays. I look forward to seeing you all,” Chopra said in a press release released by the tournament organizers.
Golden Spike has been held since 1961 and is the world athletics of Continental Tour Gold Meet, making it the second annual global competition in second level athletics after the Diamond League series.
Before heading to Ostrava, Chopra, who won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 last year and is also a gold medalist of the World Championship, will be seen on May 24 in Bengenlur in Bengalur in action.
The Indian star decided from Asian athletics championships, which will be held in South Korea Gumi in South Korea, from 27 to 31 May.
The Golden Spike Javelin competition will attract a top field, including the silver medalist of the 2020 Olympic Games, Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic.
