The double Olympic medalist Neera Chopra was awarded by Honor’s rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, the Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday 14 May. The appointment entered into force on April 16.
“No 3 (e) dated 9 May 2025 In the exercise of the powers awarded by paragraph 31 of the 1948 Regional Army regulations, the President is pleased to be granted the honorary rank of Colonel in the Territorial Army on sexual stimulus on the sexual Maja Neeri Chopra, PVSM, Padma Shri, VSM, Vilation & Post Organic defense.
Neera Chopra was previously in the Indian Army Subedar. On January 4, months after winning historical gold in the Tokyo Olympics, the Vishisht Seva 4 Rajputana Medal won for his significant service.
