Fraud at crowded metro stations are not new. But this in Delhi Chowk is warned of how convincing and calculating it.
The commuters recently shared his experience with the Reddit and described how the man who approached as a corporate employee approached him £570. Apology? His bank’s servers were down and he urgently needed money.
“He asked if I know English, then showed me the Phonepe screen and said he worked in Chennai and needed help,” wrote the user Reddit. The man claimed that he would return the money after solving the server problem.
The red flags began to add up. The appearance of man did not correspond to his story: chaotic clothing, overgrown nails and a vague conclusion card without the name of society. Something felt turned off.
The commuting played together. “I told him I had an account at the same bank, and I would check if my server was working – no,” the post said. When Scammer insisted that it was a problem specific to Chennai, the user left.
This really means that fraudsters are improving in creating believable stories. Just a moment of trust.
Since then, the post has become a viral on Reddit, with several users to say that they had seen similar fraud at the metro stations.
One user noted: “When I was a regular metro user, it was a quarterly experience – the boys in cars that run out of gasoline, students who lost the metro card, some of the dude also with the snake. Just say no.”
Another user called: “On the logo of the ovarian, People will not get help in a real repair. The foreigners in need helped me, but I don’t see it happened soon.”
“Exactly the same script, another station,” wrote the third user.
