
Necessary treatment was awarded to two girls who died in the treatment of jaundice in a government medical hospital, said the hospital superintendent BS Sunilkumar.
The preliminary medical report, which clarified it, was received, said the Superintendent.
Meenakshi, 19 years old, and Neeth, 17, nurses who lived with their parents in Kannanalloor in Kollam, sought treatment in a hospital with fever, vomiting and hurting the stomach 13 and 14 May.
Detailed investigations and tests were carried out at adolescents at the Department of General Medicine and Jaundice confirmed. Hepatitis A has been detected, which causes symptoms to deteriorate rapidly. This led to liver damage.
After investigating the medical and nephrological departments, they were given treatment of plasma exchange therapy. However, their health has not shown any significant improvement.
The nurses’ family was informed and the liver transplantation was recommended for them.
Their condition continued to deteriorate despite the care of the expert. They were supported by the fan but succumbed to the disease.
Postmortal examination was performed on the body of one of the girls to determine the cause of the disease, said Dr. Sunilkucar.
