Excise officials conduct raids in Hyderabad’s Fatehnagar on Wednesday.
Over 20 people were booked and nearly 18 kilograms of ganja were seized in a series of coordinated enforcement drives across Hyderabad and surrounding areas by excise officials on Wednesday.
A total of 6.5 kilograms of ganja was seized from Fatehnagar alone, with cases registered against 20 people. Following information that the ganja business had shifted from Dhoolpet to Fatehnagar and Pardiwada, excise teams conducted searches and raids at suspected locations.
Meanwhile, three women were arrested by the State Task Force (STF) – a ganja-selling team in Fatehnagar. Officials seized 1,262 kilograms of ganja and ₹7,690 in cash.
Accused Sheikh Jaitan B, Shakti Nani Mela and Shakti Parasi Suguna who were arrested by the STF-A team in Fatehnagar, Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The accused have been identified as Sheikh Jaitan B, Shakti Nani Mela and Shakti Parasi Suguna, while four others, identified as Shakti Sanjesh Kumar, Shakti Khus B, Kaliwala Vishal and Satish, are absconding. The accused were handed over to Balanagar Excise Station.
In a separate operation, a team of STF – D traveled from Hyderabad to Warangal after receiving information about the presence of ganja near a railway station. During this check, a suspicious plastic bag was found and examined, revealing 10 kilograms of ganja. Since no person was found with the contraband, it was handed over to Excise Station Warangal for further investigation.
